One of the biggest obstacles we all face is fear. Fear of the unknown, fear of failure, and fear of success are all valid and real struggles we face every day. If we want to feel successful, it is imperative that we not only learn to face our fears, but that we learn to push ourselves past them.
In business, there will always be fears to face. When you start to grow and succeed, you will face new challenges. As we all know, with every new challenge comes some level of fear. Once you realize that fear is natural and meant to help push you forward and not hold you back, overcoming it will become easier.
Focus on the Positive: Fear is created by our thoughts. When a negative thought creeps into our heads, we usually focus on it and let it grow. Always remember: fear is not reality. Fear is just created in our thoughts based on things we think may happen. When negative thoughts find their way into your mind, turn it into a positive. Instead of, "I can't do this" say "I can do what I set my mind to”.
When you think about the worst outcome it is usually not as bad as you think and worth the risk you are taking. Eventually, the positive thoughts will overpower the negative.
Believe in yourself: When you lack confidence in your abilities, fear and negativity will rule your thoughts. Try making small goals and accomplish them. Then make larger goals and push yourself to follow through on those as well. Accomplishing goals will boost your confidence and your fears will start to diminish.
Step outside your comfort zone: Anyone who is successful has had to push through their fears and force themselves outside of their comfort zone. If something makes you feel uncomfortable, that usually means you should do it. It isn't easy, but when you push yourself to do something you normally wouldn't do, the possibilities are endless.
You can either let your fear control you or you can learn to control your fear. Pushing through fear is difficult, but you have nothing to lose and so much to gain. If you want to talk about how I can support you growing your business, please contact me.
